Mission Statement

Pin City Wrestling Club is committed to training and mentoring students/ athletes in effort to achieve individual greatness. We strive for excellence in the sport of wrestling, while developing the athletes confidence, self-discipline, leadership, and a strong work ethic for success in life.


At Pin City Wrestling Club students will learn technique that has been proven to work at the high school and college level. Top-level instruction accompanied by the best workout partners will ensure success at every level of competition. 


"Intelligent training for dedicated wrestlers" is our recipe for creating an elite wrestler. This philosophy applies to all athletes; whether that be guiding them through the fundamentals or advancing the technique of an experienced wrestler. 


Nationally recognized coaches will provide the best and most current technique while assisting in the building process of an athletes overall competitive career. 

 

Burke Barnes - Coaching Director/Elite Coach

Burke started wrestling with the Lake Stevens Wrestling Club at the age of seven. At the age of ten he won his first of many kids Western Regional and National titles. He then started his high school career at Lake Stevens High School. Burke was a four time state champion at 115,125,125,125. He finished high school with a record of 118-4.. Burke then went to North Idaho College where he place 3rd at the Junior College Nationals. He finished his career at Dana College where he placed 3rd, 2nd, 2nd at the NAIA Nationals. In 2008-2009 and 2009-2010 Burke was an assistant coach for the 4A state champions Lake Stevens High School.

What group are you in?

 

Beginner/Intermediate Group

(Lake Stevens High School): 

  • This group is for beginning wrestlers new to the sport of wrestling. This age group ranges between 5 and 13 years old.
  • Typically only local tournaments
  • Advancement into Elite Group determined by parent and coach
  • What to wear: t-shirt, shorts, wrestling shoes (optional)
  • Will gain knowledge of basic wrestling concepts 
  • Show ability to stay on task throughout the entire practice 


Elite (LSHS):

  • Advanced knowledge of wrestling
  • Willingness to learn at a high level
  • Show ability to handle intense practices and difficult wrestling concepts
  • Willingness to travel outside the area for major events
  • This group consists of students ages 6 through 8th grade
